. Gurjar Kanya Vidya Mandir is a day-cum-boarding school with approximately 1400 girls students on its roll. The school considers education to be a lifelong process which should have a strong foundation. The goal of the school is to inculcate in the students a love for learning and desire to excel at every level. The school also aims at equipping the students with intellectual and pratical skills that are necessary to meet the challenges.

Gurjar Kanya Vidya Mandir is geographically situated in the midst of Haryana, Himachal,Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh in village Devdhar on the bank of river Yamuna, away from the din and noise of city and yet only 30 minutes away from Jagadhri . The school is surrounded by picturesque landscape and vast area to form its campus .The entire campus is covered with lush green grass and trees, presents unique atmosphere.  

All round development has been considered as the first and foremost aim of the school. At the same time education provided by the school ensures  that there is a progressive development of innate abilities. It creates good citizens. It helps to prepare the kids for their future life. Education  inculcate certain value and principles and also prepares a human being for social life. Special emphasis is given on four aspects :

Intellectual  Development:

We are very clear in ourselves what we want - human being must be the total human being, not just a technological human being. Which means not only a human being with in word understanding,with a capacity to explore, to examine her inward state and the capacity of going beyond it , but also someone who  is good in what she does outwardly. The two must go together .That  is the real issue in education : to see that when the child leaves the school , he/she is well established in goodness , both outwardly and inwardly.

Moral  Education : The aim of our education system is to assist development of moral habits , to educate students so that they are able to explore both the world and their inner being and to inculcate a love for nature and respect for all forms of  life. The goal is to develop personality of the students , to promote in children a sense of belongingness ,a sense of identity and a sense of pride in their rich vedic heritage. Children participate in yogic exercises, recitation of mantras ,bhajans, their meanings and value of  sandhya , havan yajna , importance of cultural festivals etc.

Physical Education : Education is the creation of sound mind in a sound body . It encompasses in itself the all round development of an individual . So under physical education  programme, various activities like parade , girl guiding, yoga and various modern traditional sports like kabbadi, kho-kho, hockey, basket ball , long jump, badminton , high jump etc. are included .

Practical Education : The aim of our education system is not only to produce the scholars but also the good daughters ,wives and mothers . The girls are given practical education like interior decoration , soft toy making , painting etc. along with domestic education related to house hold chores like stitching , knitting, cooking , cleaning and washing etc. Students are supposed to perform collective ‘ shramdan’ on various occasions.

Shri Om Prakash Gandhi was born at Madhobans ,Kurukshetra . His parents Sh. Ranjeet Singh and Shrimati Kamla Devi was humble and religious couple , who gave the society such an altruistic personality . Gandhi ji took voluntary retirement from his government job i.e. lecturer in physics  and dedicated his whole life for women welfare . This institution is progressing by leaps and bounces under his able management and guidance .

Mrs. Shakuntala Singh joined this institution as a first principal in 1987. She is M.A. in History, Political Science and Sociology .Inspired by educational philosophy of this school, she left her government job and adopted GKVM forever. Her selfless labour , love , sense of duty and discipline had gone into the making of institution. Under her efficient guidance school has secured its special place in the field of education.

The new step of progress is taken as a new sun ray and this new ray is called Gurjar Kanya Mahavidyalaya.
